Buying an ipod...

So when's the best time to buy an ipod? Is there going to be a new generation released soon to wait for or should I just go for it now? Also, what do you think of the contacts and calendar features of the ipod? Any good? Much thanks!

there is never a good time to buy one.. i heard rumors of never ipod minis tomorrow!
buy it when you need it, and don't worry about the next gen. coming out .. it not like the next one have buildin camera and cell phone or anything , just 10 or 20 gb more space thats all

i heard this week well wednesday to be exact so says gizmodo or engadget. Mini in color and bluetooth ipod.... i wish i waited and purchased a sony with OLED screen the hdd space is so not needed atleast not for me. but i do use it as a back up drive aswell....

I went to the apple store today to buy my wife a mini but they were all out of all minis. Are they really that popular... at this time of year or is that a sign that they'll be getting "new" ones in soon?

If you're really into serious travellin'/movin and want to be 'light', buy iPod Shuffle or else go for iPod Mini. Normal iPod is just to big, but normal iPod helps you in term of mobile 'hardrive' (external hardisk). I like to use it both, for music and file storage. And once you buy this, please buy a protect case... it's pathetically insane to drop your ipod and see crack and stretches here and there.
I use Creative MuvoSlim for the best of functionality (equalizer/managing tracks or folders/FM radio), including voice recordings (for interviews, etc) and I also got an iPod (for the sake of 'design' and culture). It’s handy. I got a cassatte adapter and whenever I’m drivin’, I just connect iPod or my Muvo to my car, it’s cool.

i have the shuffle...
and the 60 gig photo ipod
and my old 30 gig ipod is now my wifes.
60 gig was given to me.. so I aint that bad
