I'm redoing my portfolio site and would appreciate some feedback, suggestions, etc, now rather than wait till it's finished and be like, "mmm...they're kinda right" and redo the whole thing or something.

Thanks in advance.

to start, get rid of 'untitled document' as the title.

yeah, they're not titled yet...Do you think those square things I'm using for content are cheesy? That's my current dilemna mostly.

first off, why have a splash page that opens up another window when you click enter? i would keep it all in one window.

i agree with fawn. also, the squares are a little confusing at first (like the first one never doing anything). id say work with them a bit. not chessy though.

there is no need to launch your site in another window. Keep it in the same window.
While on the subject of launching, when you get done with your folio, make sure you do something about the intro page (the index page where I have to click "enter"). It's spartan, uncompelling, and I had no desire to click on enter because it didn't give me any reason to. Intro index pages are virtually unnecessary, but if you must have one, at least make it look interesting.
I like the layout of your folio a lot. The wood grain is excellent! But it makes the content area look extremely dull and gray. I know that where you'd like to showcase your work, and maybe you're keeping it dull on purpose so that your work shines through, but it doesn't work for me. Inject some color into it.

lose the splash page.
the home page will be outdated in a couple months with the diagonals &.wood grains.
the structure is kind of off; why are logos under print? maybe they have their own section.
personally i don't like how the work is presented with the boxes and description and it seems to be hit or miss with whether or not there is content in a certain place. and all the work is too small when confined to the squares.
i'd ditch the "i can do" stuff too, kind of hokey, i would hope you can do it if you are a designer.
in the web section, sites need to open in a new window.
that's about it for now. just my opinion, i'd scrap it and go another way.

looks kind of jumbled together as well. i would try to clean it up a lot.
i really like your logo though :)

point taken fawn.

thanks alot guys. that wood grain is fireworks dippy until I can shoot some textures some time soon. I'm really thinking of just redoing the whole "content" section cause to me it looks fine as far as the header section and the left side of it , then the content loads and it turns to shit. ...
