yup, ignorant cum magnet just about sums this thread up. the scarf is called a kuffiyeh, and is mostly associated with Yasser Arafat and the struggle of the palestinian people. the way he wore it was mean to resemble the map of paelestine, but people all over the arab world wear them without so much loaded meaning.
