they're all correct...
Japanese make up new squiggles each time they write, and then commit them to the 'collective unconscious' so everybody knows what the author is saying.
You should see how many words they have for snow!

We created a sculpture for a haiku exhibition (using that symbol) and then weren't sure anymore if it actually ment haiku.

Technically, the kanji you used means "poem," not specifically "haiku."
Probably not a big deal seems like the two are used interchangeably sometimes.

the_user, thanks for the helpful insight. We've been trying literally forever to find that out and nobody from all the haiku circles and associations could give a clear answer... which is funny. I'll be passing these on, they'll all probably find their way into a sculpture. :)
