I'm on a 1 ghz PB 17" with 512MB of ram. I love Firefox, but I it renders Flash like crap in OSX. It's skipping frames, and sometimes causing force-quits.
Flash works well in Safari, but I'm not leaving the Firefox Web Developer plugin behind so I can watch 81fps flash movies.
Any ideas, tweaks?

Use two browsers. Seriously.

happens all the time to me
force quit
really annoying
send bugs reports to firefox - only way they are going to sort the fucker out

it's mac...it just can't handle flash very well...the program or the publication. pretty annoying really. working on a mac at work, getting everything to flow the way i want it to, then going home to a pc and watching it speed through everything 3x as fast...it would really help if there was some consistency in the output and performance of flash : /

I read somewhere that there are certain frame rates that will work the same speed on pc an mac, I can only remeber one 31pfs.
I think there is a logic eplination to that, but I dont remember it.(this was a few versions ago on flash, maybe the changed that now)

its not true that mac renders flash badly - FF does. safari displays all sites at (almost) normal speed on my g4 667.
but heres my solution: If you turn on the "debug" menu in safari, there is nifty feature called "open page with" which dicovers ur other browsers automatically. whenever i need the developer toolbar, i just change browser.

The debug menu is cool.

I remember reading an article some time ago about Flash framerates that should work better on Macs. I've tried locating this article, but can't find it. I wrote down the framerates though: 13 through 16, 21, 31, 59. Since I can't find the article, I can't tell why this is the case. Personally I use 31 fps for my projects.
Anyone know more about this?
Peace.

Gah! oh the irony - I just had a quick looksie at Tomkats site in ff and I had to force quit. It is a bit crazy that mozilla have known about the lash/mac bug for so long, but haven't managed to fix it yet. aaaah well

ahahaha! yeah that big type is a bit much for the fox :D
but thats a good exmample - yo can see the seconds (scroll a bit right+down) leaving out numbers..
