uh, when it comes to hotels, cool and affordable don't really mix in NYC.
What's your price range?

400-450 for two nights. taking my girlfriend to the city for her bday

If you can find a good rate, check out the Hudson Hotel on 58th St. I guarantee you'll never forget it (especially if you're into the whole postmodern interior design stuff). And location-wise, it's golden.

hudson's rooms are very small unless you pay top dollar. but it's definitely a sexy place to spend some nights with your gf.i think it's kinda late to book for v-day wkend. everyone's thinking to do the same.

people who live in New York don't know too much about renting hotel rooms in New York.
That said, the Hudson is cool. Dunno about the $$$ though.

Hahah s_9, I was just thinking that. Good point. I've only been inside six different hotels in NYC.

i live in new york city, but stayed at hudson once. don't ask me why. it was nice experience. they got opaque bathroom, so when you are in bed, you can see the silhouette, very sexy if you are with a girl.
they sometimes have a special deal. it was like $120/night, but lower level of hotels so no view of the central park.
