I have a successful trick. Everytime someone says they don't like a design but I'm not willing to compromise it, I go back and round the corners on the images. I seems to work every time. People are stupid. Sometimes I hate rounding the corners but its better than making the type enormous.

depends upon what you're doing. If it's web, then make all your type html text then you can have it scaleable anyway. I've used the rounded corner trick before too. It's a good 'un

Dropping a fine shadow fools my lot. They just love that '3D' effect. Fools!

Rounding corners, ha, it's sad cause it's true. People like it because it "softens" up the design and makes it more "approachable"

YES! Whenever I use rounded corners AND a shadow effect, I get a promotion.
I'm thinking throwing some lens flares in the mix and taking the next big step in my career.

yes, tell your clients that rounding the corners of your images if great feng shui for their site that will create positive enegry and a good flow of web traffic. That will sell. =p

When the boss complains of too much white space, I just drop a black n white radial gradient in the background. Then the boss is happy. And I usually go shoot myself.

I always make the type even smaller than I want it-- then when the client asks me to make it bigger, it becomes the right size

another thing: graphic design is so disposable, you can keep an electronic version of the way you wanted to do it and post that on your website, and the original won't matter anyway
