If i was to poo on a piece of film and run it through a camera, it would make a better movie, how did this get nominated for an oscar?
Am i missing something?

the oscars are total b.s. i stopped caring about them a long time ago. they don't nominate the best movies, they nominate whoever paid the most to the judges.

leah is right, DBit. The Oscars are pretty irrelevant except for people who work at Entertainment Weakly and have to compile lists and write meaningless articles.
tho I haven't seen Sideways. I've heard from both sides of the spectrum about it.

I understand the whole oscars are b.s. I'm not debatin that, but at least the movies are somewhat decent. This movie was just terrible, during the movie people in the theater started laughing at "serious" parts it was so bad, I'm just wondering if we all missed somethin special...i dunno, guess not.

The problem is that a fair number of people also gave Sideways good reviews. So it seems like there's some merit to the film. Everyone reacts to a film differently. There were people on NT saying Alien v Predator was a fun flick. It was not. But that's just me.

I think you're right about everyone taking a film differently.
I saw the film and thought it was ok, but I could have waited to see it on DVD in my bedroom and fallen asleep to it. On the other hand, the guy I saw it with loved it and has been rcommending it to everyone he knows. . .

Most of the people I've talked to really liked the film.
As for the Oscars, I watch them every year but only enjoy watching them if some actor I like is in the running for an award. And they're interesting.

The best reason to watch the oscars is if you have an office pool. And also as a reminder that life is not fair.

i loved it- you were supposed to laught at it.
you can't say that the scene at the end where the jerky guy goes back to get his wallet wasn't hysterical.

"certain kind of sense of humor" is what made me think The Life Aquatic was funny. But plenty of people didn't think so.

wow didn't think anyone would even notice i was gone. i'm around - i really don't post that much anymore. but I was in Thailand for 5 weeks so I def. wasn't around then. i was there when the tsunami hit but in a completely different ocean so luckily we weren't effected by it at all. How are you guys?
