Has anyone seen this? Scorsese is washed up. I haven't seen it and yet I will still guarantee that it sucks.

no prob. I'm drunk and just writing stuff to get a laugh. I plan to see it, actually. Sideways did deserve that GG award. Curious to see if Aviator deserves all the attention.

it does. it drags a little, but the flying sequences and any scene with flash bulbs in it is worth the price of admission. plus, scorsese shoots each period of hughe's life with the film technique of that time period, which is pretty sweet.

Some very cool visuals, although the movie itself was pretty slow.

Scorsese washed up? Please. Coppola maybe, Oliver Stone sure, but not Marty S. He's the only one of those 70's generation filmmakers who didn't let the coke completely ruin him (he had a few rough years). Kundan and Bringing Out the Dead were disappointments narrative wise, but techincally they were still amazing.
I found The Aviator pretty intriguing. It's a mini-history of Hollywood and the technological advances of the 20th century. Plus, the OCD POV shots are bizarre and in my opinion realistic, and Kate Beckinsale is a nectar. Add that up, and I enjoyed my 3 hours...
