$750m is one helluva donation. Full stop. Regardless of who it is from.
If it was an anonymous donation would you be pissing and moaning about it? I don't think so.

Anyone who gives is worthy of praise. 750mil is only a small portion of what Gates and his wife give out each year. They're both founders and co-founders of a number of research and charitable foundations. From everything I've read on the guy - he's a pretty loving man.
