they were so awesome back in the day. did anyone ever actually suvive thanks to one of these? like catch a 10lb trout and saw down a tree and cook it up?

dude i had one and no shit it saved my life.
i was out camping and a tyranosaurous rex attacked my tent. stabbed it to death and ate it arm for dinner.

I had one, no slingshot though. Ordered it out of Boy's Life magazine when in 4th grade and in the Scouts. I think I wanted to be a mercenary too!
The blade couldn't have cut water, yet my dad still felt it was dangerous for me to have.

I've got a cousin who's been armed to the teeth all my life. He started out with butterfly knives and then it progressed on to blades and then to firearms.
The throwing knives were always fun though.

yeah, what's up with that? i think i used to carry around knives and gunpowder and shit like that when i was like 8 years old.
and now that i'm 26, i don't even have a knife...
... maybe it's time to get one?

Got one for my birthday after Rambo came out. I managed to cut down a small tree with the cable saw...and threaten some neighborhood boys from stealing my Diamond Back bike...but that's about it.

i think i found mine in some old family stuff in the attic.
the gunpowder was actually Estes model rocket engines stripped of the cardboard and mashed up.
