I have a load of statitsics that I need to turn into modern contempary graphical representations, not plain old 3D bar and pie charts. Anyone point me in the direction of a good bit of inspiration?

Pick up a couple of issues of Wired magazine. They're always showing some kind of statistical data in interesting ways.

Look at www.edwardtufte.com and buy his books. Excellent stuff on displaying data in a meaningful and uncluttered way.

Check out Metropolis Magazine. They normally have a feature towards the back that often has statistical data represented through graphics.
Also, Edward Tufte is always great (www.edwardtufte.com)
