so I am someone who does come here quite often...just under a different screenname. The GF knows my other one and she is known to 'check up' on me..
Anyways...I think I'm going to break up with her tonight...any hot tips or suggestions? 4 years of relationship must now come to an end...how do you do it with minimal damage?

be honest. and if that's too hard, you can always break up by writing a small post-it note. stick it on her apartment door at night.

Oh well...yeah I'm going to be honest I mean she kinda knows this is coming. I just feel like a dick since she left her friends and family to move here with me. We had a good long talk before we moved though and both decided to give it some time. But there are a few minor differences we have...she doesn't want kids, she doesnt really dig sex anymore, we go to bed at the same time but she wakes up 5 hours after I do, she doesn't know what she wants in life...you know, the minor problems in a relationship. lol
wish me luck...I've decided that its tonight. 4 years...whew, I'm actually kind of getting giddy for all the possiblities being single offers.

i'm pretty sure you've been thinking about breaking up with her for a while..4 years of staying together, the conclusion doesn't come easy, so i'm sure she sensed it , too.
just be upfront and honest with her. state what you're looking for and how the current situation is not meeting with what you want/need.
stay calm. stay mature.
no finger pointing (even if she starts it).or do something really really really dumb and get dumped by her.

Just be honest & direct, & don't prolong anything. I made that huge mistake once, I acted like a total dick, and all it did was make us confused & miserable.

I don't think she reads NT thread for thread but I was just worried she'd do a search for my name down the road and see that I posted a whole thing about breaking up with her, then I would deserve a flaming piece of shit at my doorstep.
