Does anyone know of any backpacks where the zipper (or at least the main zipper) is on the side that rests against the back? I'm going to use it for some travelling but would possibly use it for my laptop afterward.
please and thank you

-sputnik- you are awesome. I replied from my work address.
fate, I think you should get the millenium bag and just run around pretending this things attacking you when you get bored and are in a very busy public place

Cool! The millenium bag allows you to look like a human trilobyte.
k-rad! Except to look cool you have to be skinny and Asian.

Clive has alot of good bags with hidden zippers and extra protected zippers, so they dont easily come unziped or are easy for people to pickpocket.

Paris->Rome->Venice->Paris
for my honeymoon. I'm reading travel books on the cities to get an idea of things i may want to see or skip, restaurants, etc. And every damn chapter talks about "be careful for gypsies" "Montmarte is full of pick pockets" etc. by the way, I've really enjoyed and appreciated the information in the "Irreverent Guide to [insert city here]" books. They'll tell you what's not worth spending money on, how to avoid standing in long lines, etc.

Hmmmm. I suppose i can keep on using my shoulder bag for my laptop if i were to go with this. or see how big brandelec's bag is on me...

oh, and we're not "backpacking" Europe, so i don't need a huge bag. Just something for wandering around in that'll hold stuff i don't want to hold (wallet, passport, maybe a light jacket, stuff i may buy, etc.).
- blackspade0
thats exactly what i used it for from NZ to USA n back, and it was all good
