I like the look of those pentax digital slr's just because you can use old film lenses on them.

callin the 1ds semi pro is like callin a porche semi fast
h1 is pure sunshine, but im gonna get the 1ds first, and then a digi back for my 500 series blad...
im jumpin on the 1ds bandwagon this year.

I'm just glad everyone here knows it has to be an SLR.

I want to get a digital slr, but I just can't justify the cost right now. I don't shoot for a living, so I have to make do with my little canon powershot.
what's hot in 2007...cheaper digital slr cameras.

d70 best all around for the price currently

Tyrone: It's 20d.
For the first post:
I hope you don't feel that you have to go the dslr way. There is much that can be accomplished with a regular digital camera and it will cost so much less. Also, you will figure out what you really can't be without in a camera, which will help you decide if you are going to spend 2000$ on a dslr + lens later on.Though if have set your mind on a dslr I would recommend looking for a used canon 10d on ebay. As mentioned the 20d is out and for some reason some of the previous 10d owners decided to upgrade and are now selling their 10ds for very cheap.

I shoot with the Canon Digital Rebel (300D)..it goes for about 8-9 hundred with lens... great quality and price. The 20D will run around 12-15 hundred and is almost 2 mp better than the rebel. The 20D is like a jr Mark ll. I shoot Canon for life...like a thug
here's some recent shots i did for a photo contest...

just bought a Nikon
D70 last week. I'm surprised with how muddy/noisy/grainy the shots are above ISO 200 in dark areas. I may be taking this back and checkin out the Cannon 20D. I love my elph, and it's sensor doesn't seems to work nearly as well and the Nikon's @ 3x the price.

I had my Canon 300D for about 6 months and i'm very satisfied with the results for the price i'm paying. You can view some of the images on my site.

Fuji s2pro. It makes use of both F and DX Nikon gear. Never had a problem. Great images.
