Anyone know a good way to do an FTP access method for clients other than File > Login As? Can I make an HTML interface that would work?

what do u need it to do? i use this for clients to just store stuff

essentially i'm building a site for a client in flash, but they need their clients to be able to get to files like powerpoint, pdfs, images etc, and we want to create some kind of branded interface for them , rather than the straight forward windows default style

why dont you just do it with php, similar to the isaac browser, and just display the contents of the dir, with a branded interface? you could integrate it with flash as well if you wanted to, no?

hmm not sure i get it or know how to - can you email me any further info/instructions? thansk!
also any links of something that works like this?

mmh, something a bit like:
http://www.elixirstudio.com/
basically, it lists what folders/files are in the directory, but its stylable.. im pretty sure you can incorporate it with flash

budget only allows something very simple and flexible - so maybe an html interface is fine

well you could just code your own, or customise the isaac browser... not sure about commercial use, so better ask first

sounds like you need a CMS.
in that case, you are asking HTML to do something beyond it's reach.
The only way that HTML is oing to work, is if you make all of the pages ahead of time with a link to every file that they can access.
otherwise, you need PHP or ASP my friend.
I have a very simple CMS program that i made recently.
It might work, it uses a mySQL DB to store the files.tr1

i think he wants to store files on an ftp server, which clients can access.. however he wants a nicer/branded interface which the clients can use to access these files - most likely a html - rather than them using a program...
storing the files in a DB can bloat the db quite quickly.. i still think its best to store the files on a server and maybe have a db that references to the files if you needed to perform searches

depending on your need. you may or may not wan tto build upon my PHP version.
basically, it has an interface to upload a file (via browse) , and an interface to view those files and download them.
that do anything for you?

I'm interested as well, I've been working on a scalable php cms but I've yet to find an easy to way to upload files for client download.
