the mini is going to be hit.for sure.
but this means that there will be also more virusses made for macos,so there goes our precious spyware pornpopup free extince.tell me i'm wrong.please

nah, i dont think the type of people who would buy the mini would manufacture viruses.
there is a small chance though since it's so cheap, but i doube someone would buy it just to do that. theyre so pretty! why would someone want to fuck with it?
- fate0
it's not a matter of the "target market" man, or what types will be buying the Mac Mini. If there are more people on Macs, they will be more lucrative to hijack, for whatever reason. Spam, Zombie machines, or just the good ol' fuck over.
- tuig0
what i mean is that apple market share is going to go up.so it will become a target for al thos filth sleezy compagnies and/or virus producers.
- fate0
But shit, I'm hardcore PC, I ain't skerred! I shall be purchasing a mini very soon.
- mg330
I'm not buying one.

Dude OS X is built on Unix which has been around longer than Windows and STILL has less viruses...
it's not really how many people use the OS but more how the OS is built. Viruses existed for Windows since version 3.0 when the Apple OS still ahd more users.
- tuig0
now THATs what i wanted to hear!
- mrdobolina0
how were viruses spread in windows 3.0 without the internet?
- ukit0
True, but in terms of spyware, I think one of the reasons Macs have remained spyware and adware-free is simply because Apple doesn't currently control a large enough portion of the market to make it worth the time of spyware makers to "develop" for. Personally, I don't see the Mini changing that.
- mrdobolina0
puter, spyware can be made for the mac. it works like any other software.

i never let someone with a cold or the flue get close to my Mac!!

it's true that there will be more people trying to make viruses for macs, however osx (unix) is just stronger and less penetratable than windows, period.
so many more attempts but not as many successes as windows, is my guess.
- mrdobolina0
if a user clicks on yes instead of no or the wrong attachment, spyware/viruses will be installed.
I think that is how most of this shit is spread, not by a hacker breaking inside of the users computer system. Thats why it being on unix seems to be kindof a non-issue. maybe Im wrong.

i'm a big Apple fan but to me Mac Mini is like the Cube all over again:
little box, big flop.
- blackspade0
so what was it about the cube that made it flop tho ?

++++++++++++++++++++
you're wrong. no need to thank me, just doing my job.
- janne0
the cube was expensive and overdesigned.
they cannot have the same problems with this one cuz there's a giant new market at stake.
believe me, they'd be foolish to repeat the Cube tragedy..
- blackspade0
yea I can only see the mini being a huge success
