I'm thinking about getting the Apple 23" Cinema Display - but it is so damn expensive.. Any reccomendations of other brands?

just get the 20"
:)

Don't!
I got the new Sony 23", better warranty, better dead pixel policy, plus with a an adapter you can run a digital cable box to it.
Honestly my decision was based on when I tilted the apple monitor the base shook a little and the sony's base is like 25lbs. so it's extremely sturdy.

Thanks for the info - I heard people have been having trouble with the 23", in terms of dead pixels and a pink haze.

get 2, 20's

that would be pretty nice, but I wanted to move to a larger display to get rid of the two CRT monitors I currently use.

instead of buying LCD, why not spend on strippers and booze!!

also, i know a girl who's selling 20 in apple studio display. she got iMac so selling the display. i think she was asking for $1000, $400 less than the retail price.

the new 20's are super nice.
i used one for a day project a couple weeks ago, and use a 23" at work currently, and i really couldn't probably tell the diff once i get used to it.

check out http://www.microcenter.com if you have one in your hood. they now have a whole section of lcd displays. good prices too. you could get a 42" and use it as your tv as well!

sony xbrite is absolutly amazing. better contrast and saturation than any other one, including the apple.

the 17" is the same res as the bigger ones, and more saturation.

I'm gonna check out the Sony 23" after work - how much do the digital cable adapters go for (will work for HDTV cable channels)?
aww yeah
