I'm not sure that they are jumping on the SUV bandwagon. The Pikes Peak has been talked about as a concept for over 2 years. If there was any bandwagon jumping to be done it would have been before now.
Anyway, it's a nice looking motor...

these cars take up way too much space, are too dangerous because of size and mass and are generally bought by people who totally do not need a car like this.
i have a deep passionate hate against these sort of cars.

Sorry Janne, for a moment there we were discussing the concept in terms of styling not the concept of whether SUVs are appropriate vehicles to own.
As it happens I do not drive an SUV nor do I have a desire to drive or own one. However, it looks beautiful (which I think is the point of this thread). And in any case, any car driven above 25mph can kill someone in an accident.
The Allroad (see original link) is not a small car by any means and straddles a curious postition in the marketplace in terms of its size but somehow you failed to notice this.
Finally, as a commercial enterprise Audi have every right to complete their range with an SUV style vehicle.
