I heard that Tucker was fired. Is that true? And Crossfire was like the best show on CNN.

the show was canceled..tucker is going to have his own show on msnbc. cnn is becoming more like fox news anyway..i guess they all are.

Actually, CNN made the decision to move away from the Fox News bullshit of arguing over gossip and non-issues. The pres of CNN made it clear that he is in the Jon Stewart camp on the issue: News networks have a responsibility not to entertain, but to inform. That's why the decision not to renew Tucker's contract was made, and to cancel Crossfire.

damn so he wanst fired and hes getting a new show? I hate that turd.
- fate0
It's speculative whether or not he'll take over the new position. But CNN didn't want him and he didn't want CNN. It's not like he's just deciding to spread his annoyance elsewhere by choice.

I hope he has a nice 2005.
and die of cancer.

tucker is a little loud mouth bitch. That's all he is.
- jellyneck0
Since I work at CNN, this is a HUGE gift for me for the new year. I'll no longer be bombarded with that asshole on a daily basis. I love you 2005!!!
(Hopefully Novak will be given the axe as well..... literally or figuratively, it doesn't matter.)

word.
and turner as a man is totally liberal compared to the rest..but actions speak louder than words. cnn needs to stay competitive. without money, you cant have any network at all.. and america is eating up fox news. :(
- fate0
superbaka, well it would seem they're trying to redefine themselves through their values, as marketing-buzzwordy as that sounds.
But i.e., the new commercial spots for the web site, the SE Asia Coverage by Cooper, the dropping/consolidation of Crossfire and axing of Carlson. Seems like they're competing differently than just going head on and upping the ante. They're changing direction, but on solid ground of principles and values, instead of scandals and talking points.

I don't think they had to cancel the show. It ran for at least 20 years. They could have just replaced the moderators. Even Pat Buchanon did a better job than Tucker.
- jellyneck0
CyBrainX, they're canning Crossfire because the new President of CNN want's that type of format:
Mr. Klein said he wanted to move CNN away from what he called "head-butting debate shows," which have become the staple of much of all-news television in the prime-time hours, especially at the top-rated Fox News Channel.
- jellyneck0
Oops.. I mean he DOESN'T want that type of show.
It's sleepy time.

I don't really care since I think the media *used* to have an impact on the way people think but now I am no longer so sure.
If this were the case than Kerry would be in office since you would have thought he would have won had everyone paid attention to the media and generated their opinions based on what was being reported and how it was being reported. Turns out people make there decisions on their own and not through the media opinion.

The best news show on television is NOW on PBS http://www.pbs.org/now/ but I must say that I find tucker Carson to be a smart guy, misguided but smart and at times I hear some correctness in his arguments. His show on PBS is watchable http://www.pbs.org/tuckercarlson…. P.S. if he is really the enemy, then you must know your enemies, strengths and weakness in order to defeat them. Plus who knows you might learn something.
For instance Tucker has taught me that bowties are not cool. Not cool at all!

Plusone, you're naive. If one phrase sums up the media's influence in this past election it is this: Flip-Flopper.
- JazX0
It's just fodder boys, settle down. Talk shows like this excite people and that's why CNN runs it.
- CyBrainX0
Kerry had as much media attention. It's just a case of a country of idiots wanting and idiot for president. There is no solution.
Praise Jesus.
- JazX0
I wouldnt classify the United States as a country of idiots. It's all about systems and options.

I wonder if his mother can even stand him

i would classify the US as a country of idiots... definitely.
