I don't. But this depends on the client and their set up, and if it works for them rather than anyone else.
As a rule though - I try to avoid gradients...

Most show thousands at least... but that will still ruin a gradient.

from my experience of corporate users who have decent 17" monitors capabable of 1024 wide that were setup by by "expert" techies they still have a 800 setup. Even when they have asked the techies if the monitor is capable of more the answer is no.! lazy b*stards is the problem
