You might have to get a day job for a while to make contacts. i think its going to be very diffilcut without constant cash flow. Apply for a job at TRIO on the website. I used to work there.

probably it will work best if you get a headhunter or an agent. many ad agencies and major companies only goes through them before they look themselves.
freelance on a project base and try to go through as many different companies as you can.
that's probably the best way to build your portfolio with some big name corporate work.
