sorry to hear spix. not sure which is worse. i guess its the difference between ripping the bandage off real quick or doing it slowly. except in this case the healing can come only much after.

Congratulations, sputnik!
It's funny cos my wife knows almost nothing about design or print production, so she just lets me do my thing. (She takes care of me in other ways, though...)

I disagree about kids hurting creativity. Actually once they are grown up a bit (2+) they can be totally inspiring. Kids know everything, adults just slowly f*** them up with our preconceptions, self important knowledege and bigotries.

Sort of. My wife thinks the computer is a "idiot box", that was until I got her an ipod for Christmas. Now she want us to get an imac g5 so she can download music.
Go figure?
Other then that - marriage just limits that time that you get on doing things like designing at home and definatly music at home. However, the creativity is still there - I just need more time.

yeah, zombiewoof, but having kids decreases your IQ nonetheless:

I don't think a creative block has anything to do with marriage. Sounds like a wacked out justification to not getting married. Everyone reaches a creative block.

zombie made me think of something..kids help inspire creativity...they see things we miss.
on another note personal projects no longer become a priority...unless they involve your family (which helps greatly). I do sideline work and my wife and kids (two teen step-daughters) know that when I have a client job to work on, that takes priority over a trip to the mall.
