You have great taste in music mg33 - i saw a great cure show this summer - and i wish the catherine wheel would put out a new album.

Thanks :) The Cure and The Catherine are my two favorite bands. I remember when my Sister gave me a tape of Ferment when I was in the 6th grade, and I still remember that first thought of how awesome the song Texture was. Blew me away.
My sister, and two older guys across the street from me got me into good stuff around that age.
We get great bands through Chicago, but I'm terribly envious of Londoners and others in England at the amount of great shows available all the time.
What is your favorite Catherine Wheel album or song? Hard to beat Black Metallic.

Tomorrow Jevad will be talking about how he is listening to Elton John.

Those Brits have a special section in their hearts for Elton, whether they like him or not.

Not really a fan of elton dobs....
catherine wheel however...brilliant
'chrome' rules

it is hard to beat black metallic - but lately i find myself hypnotized by "fripp" from chrome - "ther's a shark shaped fin in the corner of my dreams an alligator screams in my thoughts there"
they out pinked pink floyd on that one.
Adam and Eve is my favorite full album

I concur jevad. They have always been such an underrated band, and their evolution from album to album has been impressive. It's like each one has become less loud, but more full, better production. Some songs on Wishville have very little going on other than just ambient-esque music and vocals.
His singing style was always an influence to me.

Oh, man spendogg, that is a great song. In fact, I have used that song many times for various things.
I met my girlfriend through the nerve.com & theonion.com personals, and my slogan was always "there's a shark shaped fin..."
I even think that my screen name was fripp33.On my myspace profile I've chosen "Too much is not enough" as my slogan.
Interesting, interesting...
I love the beginning guitar on Ursa Major Space Station.

it is nice to talk with others who have respect for the wheel - one of the most underrated bands of my generation - X that is.

I saw them when I lived in Dallas, TX on their tour for Happy Days.
They had a big banner with their CW logo, and when they played "Eat My Dust..." a section of the banner dripped and it had the whole song title there
EAT MY DUST YOU INSENSITIVE FUCKSadly, that's what their t-shirts said too and I never really wanted to wear that.

I luv The Cure... never heard 'Catherine Wheel' Someone hook me up with a sample?
They've actually started to play some of the cure classics out at bars/lounges here... :-)
