I would hope the US would do something out of care and concern for people in the disaster area. I don't except much from any government, but it would be a nice show.
Especially after a friend told me about how he was working for a enviromental agency (or something like that) when the Exxon Valdez spill happened. They were ready to go with everything they needed to mop up and salvage most of the oil within 48 hours. They were turned down by the US Government. I'll leave it to you to figure out why.

"some people actually think he's a hero, i don't you can blame a analphabetic peasant from a little village in one of the porest partd of the world, who is extremely religious for believing he is a hero...."
subsitute the poor references for rich ones, the reference to Bush instead of Osama, and what do you got?
It's relevant to point out that the idea of terrorist is relative to regions and religions...
- slackerPOND0

i just hope you have the courage to read this.
you mention Sri lanka and other places [and since your penchant for specifics has kept you from mentioning which places those might be, ill carry on] hate the US. you have a point AND an opinion but no real backable facts. no place you're coming from. how do you know they hate the US? there's your belief blackhole.
how do i know they dont? because i have been there. and people there have no time for US or even their own politics which again have no animosity towards the US. they would much rather deal with survival issues than bother with policies, boundaries, race, religion and such. [except the LTTE, which is mateiral for another book]
they are perhaps the kindest if not the most insighful people i have met.
-i know of teenagers who'd lost limbs through landmines years ago, now helping with the relief operations.
-i have seen pictures in indian/tamil newspapers of ravaged natives helping westerners locate their loved ones.
-the beeb a few days back even broadcast an interview with a western couple who were pulled out of the sea by fishermen.knowing you, you'd say, "western could be anyone, they still hate the Americans". correct. but thats the difference between your value system and one which is a few thousand years more mature.
now to affirm my geekiness, here are some links for you.

http://www.economist.com/opinion…you'd also be glad to know youre not the only one who thinks this way.

truth is, that when the earth starts shaking, mankind thinks of survival and not of boundaries. and that goes for you too. i know you mean well but it saddens me that your like would rather mouth off trash first, revel in your ignorance and self-righteous jizz and pick the pieces, if ever, later. all this when you can do better. i know that the US can and is helping immensely with the efforts, but what takes the piss is that you let that self-congratlatory tone soil someone else's credibility.
im glad i have some great american friends who still give me faith.
im not quite sure where i got under your skin, but then i thought you have a sense of humour! mi bad. for a guy who thinks that you could lace someone's food with poison is funny...nuff said.
once you get off your perch and your head out of your arse you could engage your brain before you open your mouth.....or do you need a diagram?

well.
1) sri lanka is and has been in a state of war within for quite some time now. the u.s. government of course backs the current government. the group fighting against the current government would then of course be against the u.s. demographic maps show the 7 or so percent group opposed living in the majority of the southeastern parts, or, the side where the tsunami hit. thus, my general statement i made above.
to further back it they took it one step further and israel has as i'm sure you know cancelled a 150 person rescue mission to sri lanka after the island objected to the military composition of the team even after sri lanka restored diplomatic ties with israel in 2000, despite objections from the island's muslim minority. the same muslim minority that make up the 7% on the eastern seaboard. and where does the u.s. stand with israel? so basically i made a general statement that you had to drag back through the dirt and actually my statement was pretty dang good saying who cares what religion or race, help is help and i hope it can restore some peace. got it?

Is this what people get from Christmas holidays? Laugh out loud to everything? This is insane...
WWVC - You are one of the most retarted and ridiculous person in this world, people are helping hands and all you can think about is some bullshit politic agenda? Where u graduate from man... I see European kids standing on the streets and local shops 2-3 hours together with our local Red Cresent Team raising fund for victim of Tsunami and you all don't give a shit. And more, you guys laugh at those who sufficated.
The moral of the story is try to do something good in your life... I dunno what religion you're in but you have to faith to hold on to, I guess u drink too much and fuck girls to much to think about humanity.
And Jevad, I really look up to you in this forum and after I read your post about how you treat muslim that way, shit man, i didn't know you are one of them... I just dunno what to say, first seing you so educated and friendly but then you just said bad things about muslim. Why u have to judge people from it's cover.
You know, i can be quite about it and ignore this post but this is one of the site I visit daily and promoted, but this is just too much.
Take example of a kids who had been volunteering making cookies to sell so they get money for donation. I collected my old clothes and use some of my money for donation to help them. At least give moral support!
Kona_an0k, thanks for the post you wrote. To me, as being a sensable person, I would not think any country cause anything. If i see problems, I don't simply point fingers just like what WWVC or Jevad did... man, I respect this fella, and I
can't believe he simply dish and accuse muslims. And to all the rest who care about the world they lived in and appreciate every single things in life, may God bless all. I know all who supported this donation campaign, keep on doing. At least, we can remember we do help, not like some people sit in front of their computer doing nothing and diss every one off.

i can't be bothered to read the other posts right now, but does anyone think in 50 years or so, instead of ché shirts, kids might ever sport a similar portrait of osama? wow, that's wierd huh?
- cola0
