hey, anyone got any reccomendations for a decent uk isp ?
bt have finally taken the biscuit... to double up with their quite crap service, a 15gb monthly limit entroduced
dont mind havin a 12 month contract, just want a decent isp with no limits, no cut off time, no bentness/

They look like a bunch of con-artists but the service is fine. They plug you in and leave you to it. No limits.

blueyonder I have had no problems I am rocking 2 megs per whatever. I started with 1 meg and they upgraded me for free twice :D. Not sure if it is in the same league as what you are after though I guess mine is for the home user.

i recommend telewest. there are no limits, price is only 18£/month, and compatible with Macs, which is good for me. maybe not you.

you mean internet access or hosting? i recoment pipex.net fast and friendly broadband for hosting use fasthosts.co.uk good tech support and nice packaged options that are easy to resell.

anyone had any experience of a 256k line - specifically Telewest? I was hoping for somewhere in between that and 1mb but they don't do it and £25 a month at the moment is stretching my finances

As I'm currently on the phone, cancelling my adsl connection, I thought I'd offer this bit of advice:
DO NOT USE UK ONLINE.
They are shit.
- they lie.
- they have COMPLETELY INCOMPETANT customer support.Actually, my imagined long list of grievances only boils down to those two. But boy do they.
one more, for good measure:
- they're making me violent...'incandescent with rage' as our favourite royal might say.

BT upgraded my 512k to 2.2mbit sunday, for free, as soon as they introduce the 15gig cap, im migrating to metronet, only have to pay the migration fee now, not the regrade fee.
