yup toe_knee it was yesterday when the US pledged 350 million and today when Japan pledged 500 million. Now all we need is Australia to step up from their 40 million. ;-)

"Since last Sunday, the Australian Government has pledged $60 million in aid, while aid agencies have received pledges of $50 million.
In Sydney on New Year's Eve Oxfam raised more than $1,121,000.The number of Australians pledging money rose steeply yesterday with extra donations topping more than $17 million in one day."
so nice to see the good in us humans

Its not a contest you know... some countries (including the US) will be donating lots more over a long period...
But if you are going to treat this as a weekly contest, dont forget to work out what the donations represent per capita...
- toe_knee0
whatever
- jevad0
No it's not a contest, but it's interesting to see how is giving what comparitive to their size and GNP
- mrdobolina0
whatever sends money that way is fine, except if apple helps... :P

i guess it would only feel like a contest if someone felt their country should be doing more as for this entire thread it doesn't appear much like a contest. Do you feel the UK should be donating more than they are?
- usrper0
