So I bought an almost never used PowerBook G4 from a friend yesterday(!), and this morning I ran it over. Sux0rz! It still works, although the screen is a little twisted and I don't dare to close it. Is there a way I can fix this? Would some Apple technician be able to straighten it out or something? : /

Yeah. I was tired as fuck this morning and as I was loading up shit, I put down the laptop bag behind the car... but i forgot it and backed right over it.

sounds like a jackass action to me: put your kid on the rooftop of the car, put something else in the thrunk, forget the kid, and driving away.
so, you're joking right?!
if not i wouldn't force the powerbook screen by trying to close it.
good luck.

Joking?! No way – I could take some photos, but that's gonna have to wait till tonite, I don't have a camera around.

i can't wait for the pictures jox

It's nothing *spectacular*, it's a little dented, scratched and twisted but if I was working with it in a room and people walked by, they wouldn't exactly go "OMG YOUR COMPUTAR IS ALL BROKEN D00D!"
- rasko40
say it got ran over by the Elvis tour bus in 1967 and sell it on eBay, you'll be a rich man!

jox... dude....
... i'm sorry, man.. that sucks...
... but wow... STUPID!
hehe ;)
I used to be a tech-support bastard - and just so you feel better, you're not alone.
I had 190 laptops under my care that I sent around the country to mortgage dipshits. Oh, the stories... including 2... yes TWO... run-overs. :)

I guess it's got to do with the kind of bag you use also. This was more of a regular bag I carried it in, so it was standing up. Not lying down like a usual computer bag...
But I don't doubt that your PC is more jox resistant.
So who wants to buy an almost new PowerBook? Great condition *ahem* No dead pixels! (actually that last one true)

Great – so please do tell, abbizzy! Would this be fixable? I guess I'll have to live with the dents and scratches, but the screen?

wow. this thread is getting weird! :) sux though. i mean, that really must suck. i would go f#!^*ing mental if that would happen to me.
anyways, sending it to apple is gonna cost you a lot. those mofo's are really expensive, especially if you don't have that apple care package which is way too ridiculous priced to start with. and if there's still guarantee on it i'm not sure if it's gonna cover that.
maybe you should look for a local apple tech who can fix it for you, exchange the screens or whatever.
- jox0
Yeah, good idea rabattski. I don't have Applecare or any warranty on it – it's one year old by the week :(
Maybe some techier guys on here could decide for me what to do later when they see the damage off teh pics. But from what I can tell, the entire top piece, hinge, monitor etc needs to be replaced because it's gonna break sooner or later.
