OK so speaking of Christmas (which we weren't really doing, but anyway...) have you ever wondered what it would've been like if Mary and Joseph had email?
Maybe something like this?
- Spix0
no never wonder about that....and not even when you mention it.
- nick0
i havent read the bible, and this email exchange just isnt doing it for me.

I figured most people would have a pretty good idea of the Christmas story.. even without reading the bible there's plenty of Christmas Carols and Shopping Mall nativity scenes that can help piece it together... sort of.
- Gilt0010
Actually not really. Since the Bible never speaks of "3 wise men" going to see the baby Jesus. King Herod sent some men to kill Jesus. But other than that, no one specific was mentioned.
Then Christmas falls in the end of December because it's based on the Roman celebration of Saturnalia. Look in an encyclopedia. It will say that theologians agree that Jesus wasn't born in december.
Then there's the Christmas tree which was an ancient symbol of the "man turned God" Nimrod. Who married his mother and thus became a powerful figurehead to certain people.
The above reasons are why I ignore Chrismas entirely.

There are quite a few better reasons to ignore christmas. Like the fact that itself contains the name of one of the biggest hoaxes of all time...Christ.
God, and that whole big long story...is just that, a story.
Sad that so many millions of people blindly follow these religions for no reason other than 'their parents brought them up and they've been brainwashed into believing this crazy shit'.
Sad sad stuff..

I'd be interested to hear how you come to those conclusions, Scottizzle.
- Gilt0010
Yeah me too. Because the idea that the perfect synchronicity that is our revolving solar system just "happened" that way, seems far more perverse a belief than God.
If I get some nails some wood some glass and some dynamite. How many times will I have to blow it up until it forms a perfect house with heating, windows and working plumbing.

lets NOT get into this discussion, shall we?
- Nownotyet0
Yeah maybe we should start linking to our threadless submissions or something.
So Gilt, do you believe in God but Christmas just has you disillusioned? (Sorry nick, but I'm interested...)

There is a god. Benny Hinn told me so

Ive read the bible and this email exchange still isnt doing it for me... very boring attempt to be cute and witty.

Oh of course I believe in God. However, he isn't Jesus. Jesus is God's son. And I'm just taking Christmas for what it is. Something that I choose not to associate myself with.
See, Christmas is just an almagamation of various beliefs taken from various Gods/Deities/Religions that don't hold the same belief I do. Therefore, I don't celebrate Christmas.
Another issue I have with Christmas is how Jesus is portrayed as a baby. Let's say I walk up to your Art Director, and ask him what art school he's going to and how his first quarter is going, do you think he's going to be pleased?
Or for a not so convoluted illustration. What happens when you celebrate your birthday? Everyone goes, hooray your 45 (or what have you). They don't stick a bottle in your mouth and say "hooray, you were just born!" It doesn't make any sense.

not really no, but it should read something like this: yo peeps, heard youre sliding through town soon, make sure you bring that shit we were rappin about, that shits gangsta. cant stay at my crib tho, youre gonna have to bounce somewhere else. peace

JOHN 10:30-33 I and {my} Father are one.
JOHN 1:1-4 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God....
JOHN 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us

In the Beginning there was jack, and jack had a groove.

I hear what you're saying Gilt (though I'm not sure what magicpatch was saying :) but I guess I view Christmas as only like the first half of a story - Jesus has to get born so he can go on to to all the important stuff (which gets celebrated at Easter)...
Christmas is worth celebrating (in my opinion) because it's when God humbles himself to become a man, so he can then go on to humble himself again by dying on behalf of the world.

I think its funny that so many millions of people will belive in something that has absolutely zero proof behind it.
Thats all.
I went to catholic school for 9 years, and christian highschool for 1...so I know the story behind it all.
Im ending my part in this conversation, and leaving you with this:
yall is some crazy mofukas to belive in dat shit.
- gruntt0
Merry Fucking Christmas.

Scottizzle, you may have already heard at school or whatever about the massive amount of historical evidence behind the Bible and that it's more trustworthy than any other writing in most history, or even that any given historian would be stupid to not agree that Jesus lived and died on a cross.
you may also know that the first recorded celebration of Christ's birth was in around 370AD which yes was a Roman festival but was taken over/coopted by Christians to celebrate Jesus.
sure you can't replicate it in a laboratory but that's science proof not historical proof.
but then truth is not based on what people believe. in fact truth is truth even if noone believes it and an untruth is still untruth even if everyone believes it.
I'm not quite sure what my point is.....
wanna see my threadless submission? :)
