hey'lo...
im doing a flyer for a gig at Otago University here in NZ
Violent Femmes are playing, does anyone know what font this is they have used, i think I have it somewhere...

exocet by emigre. if not it it's close enough. the game diablo (1 & 2) also uses it. it (or the style of it at least) was big about 10-15 years ago to show a gothic style, usually 'devilish'.

Good old Exocet. I used to use that as a rookie back in '94.

yeah, i started my first job in 94. i used to do tape / cd covers on the side and tried using exocet for a pop band. it didn't fly with the band so we tried a few other things. looking back it sucked but would have been a lot worse with exocet!

yea im only using it cos its seems that its the most consistant font they have used on albums
its only gonna be small and just the band name in that font , so yea

yeah, your doing the right thing (i think anyway). it's good to design stuff for past heroes in the manner they did when they were relevant. people who remember them will appreciate the extra thought when they drag the cd's out of the cupboard!
