i am starting to dislike it more and more when i move it more and more to the left.

9 px from the left would be nice. you should keep inmind lower resolutions to much to the right will make it look bad. bplus you have a border outline so u have more then enough room. 9px. :)

just center it with no padding on the top. and then go to bed and worry about it in the morning. it looks fine anyway.

i think it will accentuate the length, make it look more balanced on the screen.

i think it should go all the way to the left hes got enough borders for space from the text. leave the top opening and continue the bottom all the way to the bottom.

sorry haven't read the thread but it looks good DB the image is a good choice, makes the whole page warmer than it was before.

that's lovely. it looks much more balanced. there's not enough breathing space when it's aligned left, and you've got a lot of borders/boxes, so i think it needs the space.

yeah, i like that, compliments the strong grid symmetry in your layout.
