I don't see this thread as negativity-- it's not design-related, to be sure, but it is showing some concern for others

i've had a roommate and she's from Argentina and very well educated. She had a high degree (don't know what's called there) in fashion design / management etc.
then she moved to the Netherlands and then Belgium and only got the crappiest jobs you could imagine.
then she told me she was offered management positions in her homeland and i kept convincing her she should go back. But she always refused, and never really told me why.
Quite sad.
