ugly rims...
... that thing looks like a compacted ford taurus now... yuck.... I used to love these cars.

Over here in the UK people really love the old jettas, they mod them and also use stuff (like the headlight unit) to mod old golf GTI's.
Agreed that new one sucks ass!!!

I really hope that stays a concept design.

nope, that's the official design of the jetta. vw sucks now as a company. labor issues, declining sales, losing a huge share of the market outside of the US, Phaeton.

shit breakin down past 50k miles....the list can go on.
love the ferrariesque tail lights.

looks like a corola. i don't know why they did this, the previous had such nice simple lines, made it look more expensive than it was.

The victim...The MK5 Golf has been given similar treatment. I am disgusted by the direction VW is going.

yeah, it kind of reminds me of a corola too....but after seeing it a bit closer i acctually like it.

sweet
volkswagen apparantly hired the brilliant designers from saturn(cough)sucks(cough)

ugly....If they are going to copy the Japanese, they shoudl start with the reliability.
I mean, everyone knows that Japanese cars are ugly compared to German cars, but they buy them cuz they know the door handles are going to work for more than 2 years.
Time to switch to Audi.

In fact, if you’re interested in this VW, buy a Corolla instead—one of the most reliable cars on the market (compared to the Jetta and Golf being two of the most unreliable cars on the marekt) currently.

Backside is so damn ugly... damn...
To me it looks like the car is a bit bigger than previous version. Anyway Jetta is the worst VW car. From outside looks confortable, but when you sit inside you see that it's small as shit. It's no bigger than Golf, but uglier + in money terms it's not woth of it at all (here they sell fucking Jetta almost expensive as Passat). The bottom line is you pay a lot more, just for luggage space?

looks big... i mean really big... i thought golf/jetta was supposed to be a small/midsized car. this looks the size of a passat.
would like an old (65-67) type3 notchback more than a new jetta.

i have a feeling they did this in response to the Scion tC. The problem with the Jetta is (at least in California) it's known as a girl's car. A "cute" car. Sometimes you'll see one all modified, but usually you see young women driving them. With the Scion tC coming out, which is cool, good, and cheap, VW doesn't have anything to compete. I think they chose the Jetta to compete in the young driver market.

Ay, that new Mustang is hot! I HATE the old one. Check it:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars…I think I would lose the spoiler on the back, shave all the logo bullshit, drop it like its hot, and put the soul grey tint on that beeyatch.

I guess this is the official word:

that looks like a Chrysler or something. Bad move fpr VW to do that.

my family owns exclusively vw's. my dad has a yellow 71 karmann ghia and an orange 72 squareback. i drive a 96 passat tdi and my mom drives a 2000 jetta. the newer the vw, the less reliable it is. the jetta we have now really blows, is tiny, and breaks a lot. this new jetta looks horrible. UGH VW IS GOING DOWN THE TUBES.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
only because i have a 2000 vr6 and i'll have no problem selling it when the time comes...since the new version is shit.
