ah interesting. is wearing a 20 yrs old fur coat wrong? i don't think so. like you said it's still gonna be there used or not.
interesting to see cross country cultural differences about wearing fur. in holland you have a chance that either people call someone who's wearing fur names or they throw paint at it. and small demos at fur shops. in germany a lot of people wear fur, no one really thinks about it i think, a lot of fur shops as well.

my sister designed a collection with fish leather.
it looks/smells/feels great. really.
but personally i prefer dog fur.

i have been shouted at for wearing it and tried to explain where it came from but those sorts of people don't really want to think aobut it, they want a simple "wearing fur is evil" mantra to follow

not much wrong with fur from farms and what not- the problem is the expensive/evil stuff is hunted down. little furry mountain creatures. slain by human beasts with boom sticks.
cow leather is as bad as rabbit fur as you need a shit load of land to raise cattle, which could be put to far better use for crops and save starving babies.

Yesterday they showed a video on Belgian television where you can see a fox getting "professionaly" offed by the fur industry. They were holding him with two men, one metal rod went in his troath, the other end in his anus, and they shocked him to dead.
I dunno.
If you can catch a fox by yourself, wear it.

IMO, it's not distrubing nor gross. the style itself comes from a day when we weren't so politically correct. your being influenced the wrong way. last time I checked the human species was pretty high on the food chain. it also has to do with controlling populations and specific types of those animals being specifically bred for those uses. try a dose of reality. :)
