Do you find the plight of people in The Sudan "really disturbing and gross!" or is it just rabbits?

duh of course i find abuse to people disturbing. all i am saying is its weird that fur has come back in style. sensles death for fashion? seems stupid for me.

v in german pronounces f... and w as v.. so volkswaven is folkswagen etc :-)
- kezza_20
why is it wierd. It's not different to leather coats, handbags or shoes. Did you know that all football boots made by adidas are made from kangeroos?
Fact is most people don't like it because they are cute and furry.
Not liking Fur but wearing leather is like being a vegetarian but eating fish.

kezza... exactly my point..

my wife is the sr. buyer at a women's boutique. one of her assistants (accidentally) brought something in that had rabbit fur on it and everyone freaked out.
my wife doesn't like fur either(she's never eaten red meat in her life), but she explained to me that it's absolutely no different than leather. the cows are killed for food and so are the rabbits (the rabbit fur is from china). then their skins are sold to the highest bidder.

"made from roadkill only
Rand
(Dec 1 04, 16:13)"hahaha, now that would be a label!
"with fresh tiretracks from the latest Ram Van"
how cool would that be?

its definintely a business

I don't like fur either, but their is no line to be drawn. IF we kill, we can eat it and wear it. I don't think I could intentionally kill an animal unless I was out in the wild and starving to death. And if it was cold outside I'd try to kill an animal of substatial size and skin and make some skin/fur type shit out of it. And I'd eat everything except the chitterlings, neck and sweetbreads.
Until that time comes, I'll stick to chicken and steak from the store and leather courtesy of K Cole

i'm wearing socks at this very moment made of the fur from a little rabbit, they are very nice and warm and i don't really feel bad about it.
- _salisae_0
it is possible to use their fur without killing them - no?
shaving the little cuties?
- Mick0
What I wanna know is when are all these animals going to realize it's hip to go shaved now days - if only they knew.

it depends though. if fur as leather is a byproduct of a process than i don't see it as wrong. if animals are specifically being bred for fur (or just leather) than it's wrong. since fur has no functionality anymore except luxury. and animals being killed to please someone's feeling of luxury is plain wrong. with byproduct of a process i mean for instance if there are too many rabbits, coyotes etc. which inbalances the nature so they are shot. or as a byproduct of the meat industry. all imo ofcoz.

i have a fur coat. it's rabbit, my boyfriend's mum gave it to me cos it had been sitting in her cupboard for 20 years. there's something slightly repellant about wearing 20 year old dead things but i don't really have a moral dilemma about it, the coat would still exist whether or not i had accepted the gift. i also have leather trainers and leather boots. and ive just finished eating a bacon sarnie.
