bSavoy, I will be attending college, I have a broke ass car, and I have more important things to spend that extra $700 on than a camera. Sorry, but I'll be going with one that is less than half the Nikon D70's price and same MP count.
- bSavoy0
its not just bout mega pixel count...you have to look at what you can control on the camera...basically your trying to make a point and shoot a professional camera..
- bSavoy0
besides...if you look at it as equipment you are going to use in your work its not a waste of extra 700 its an investment...and with better quality work you can charge more $$$...oh and tax right off ;)

bSavoy, your photos are really beautiful though, I'm quite jealous I can't afford that camera. But I simply don't have the cash on hand and anything incoming will go towards needs instead of wants. Plus the camera will be used for mainly none-work pruposes like taking pictures of my snowboard boots ;)

thanx on the comments man...its not like im loaded, i just worked and saved...took a few months but was worth the wait...i had a lil fuji before and it was a piece...but yea if its mainly for personal use then go for it...

Dslr cameras have bigger sensors. I mean dimmensions, not megapixel-count. That makes them a lot less noisy at higher ISOs. Moreover, tonal range is wider in dslr.
I've succesfully corrected pictures from my D30 that were strongly underexposed, even from a jpg. I don't think you could do that with a compact camera picture. What's dark is dark, there is no information written there in compacts. And I haven't started talking about RAW format yet.
BTW, I sold my Canon D30 this morning. I'm choosing between a 10D and a Nikon D70..
