this is a very important question -I have a cd player/alarm clock - for a long time now I have been trying to find a great song to wake up to - it has to start off softly so that I am not freaked out at the start - and when I am in that dream/awake state I want the song to get me excited about the day.....this has been a difficult issue.
I thought about recording various people waking me up nicely and then burning that, but I dont want to hear one of my buddies whispering into my ear to wake me up - but besides the voice recordings, any great songs you can reccommend?

Dude that's a great idea. Here's a thought. Find a girl friend with a nice sexy voice to wake you up with superlatives. There's nothing better to start your day with then nice smoothing female voice telling you that it's time to get up. That is if you are single, because your girlfriend might not find it amusing if she heard it :)

but there is a scene where Cruise wakes up listening to 'Radiohead - Everything in its right place', great scene, i woke up to that for a while
theres a John Mayer acoustic guitar cover version of Radiohead's-Kid A, great to wake up to (i kno, i kno, 'John Mayer') but ill post it when im back at work, fantastic track

a while ago I was thinking about an invention called the ALARM SHOCKER.
A device that would give you a mild shock to get ur ass up which increases in intervals to really get you movin. The wire can be hooked on a toe or something. For extreme cases i guess...sometimes, nothing seems to wake me up.
