okay, so as I am about to go out and pick this book up, intrigued by what I've heard, and the ideas in the book ........ reading the comments on here about Mau's history and the sketchiness of product pushing behind the project........ is the book worth it?

yes. well worth it.
and it isn't about Mau, he only was responsible for the direction...and design.

Cradle-to-Cradle, written by William McDonough & Michael Braungart is probably one of the best books I've ever read.
Also, it's waterproof.
