these updates are probly not destroying your logic board, it is probly just revealing the problem...
that is the case most of the time...
sadly, my computer has been running better since the 10.3.6 update...
actually, i can only install 10.3.5 because i got some CD's in the mail of those and gave my other cd's to my bro...

Running 10.3.6 on my Dual 2Ghz G5 with no problems, it did crash after the install had finished though which freaked me out a little, ok after a forced restart.
NEVER run the hardware test thing on the CD though, that really does have the potential to fuck things up as it cuts out the fans. Melted the motherboard and both processors on mine, luckily it was still under guarantee but it could have been pricey.

oh yeah, the fan cutting out thing is bad...

OK, what should I do...
I installed 10.3.6 before reading this thread. I haven't yet restarted my computer (I'm afraid to), so I'm still running 10.3.5. Is there anyway to uninstall this update before I restart, or do I have no choice?

10.3.6 and as stable as always. That is to say it's not. I think the whole Mac stability thing is a myth. My system has never been any more stable than my PC. Hell, IMMEDIATLY after the latest reformat I had System Prefs. freeze and a system lock up.
Nice.

arthur... too late.. you are already on 10.3.6 if the install process finished...

No stability issues at all here (10.3.6), only problem I get is Firefox freezing up on certain sites but that's not down to the OS.

as far as I can remember most of the problem with 10.3.6 at startup have something to do with fonts. on macfixit it was suggested to clean up the fontbook, down to the default sets (create a new user and see what's default).
I'll stay with 10.3.5 as it _is_ stable as hell - I'm very very satisfied, I had two crashes in the last year. that's ok for me. :)

I installed 10.3.6 today and no problems yet other than slightly slower start up.
It seems there will be a 10.3.7 before long.

I'm on a G5, update 10.3.6 has slowed down log in and user switching.

Too late for you, but anyone else:
Advice:
a) Backup
b) Don't install with Firewire drives plugged in
c) and Use the full combo update from Apple, not the one through Software Update.that is all
- Ell0
can i install the combo update over the top of the one through software update?

Dual 1.8 G5 seems to like 10.3.6
No issues yet.

i had to do a clean install on my g5 anyway, all seems A-OK. did also do a clean on a spare g3 ibook too, they both seem fine. if anything the g3's a bit quicker.
it may have had something to do with os9 being taken off.

4 G4's - all running the latest...
All smooth and dandy.
Actually start up time has been quicker for me.
Go figure.

I was using 10.3.6 with no problems, until I noticed I couldn't rebuild permissions so I did an Archive and Install back to 10.3 so my permissions were fixed. Don't ask how they got messed up, that's another story.
I can now rebuild my permissions which is A. Good. Thing. But...
The rest is crap, all sorts of problems, DVD burner doesn't work, Safari messing up, other programs not working correctly... lots of things.
I'm currently downloading the combo 10.3.6 update to put that back on...
Maybe 10.3.6 isn't the bag of lame a lot of people claim it to be...
