agree with Dublao, Sorry BonSeff, but it appeared that Artest was just trying to chill after being shoved.
The only reason Artest was laying on that table was becaused he was backed up to it by Wallace.
I also agree that the suspensions should be more balanced.

I said that long ago, Artest was playing it cool, when he was lying on the table. I would get pissed too if someone started throwing sh*t at me.
So, did you guys actually watch the game before this point or just chopped up highlights?
- Point50
Artest= idiot for running up in the stands
Security= horrible. because where the fuck where they? I go to college football games and the minute a fight breaks out, they're there weilding mace and all. A basketball stadium is way smaller, and wtf? How is there no security on the floor?
Towel boy = idiot for running up on Artest then getting his jaw re-aligned by o'Neal.
I laughed during the whole thing, but then again I like fights. Those kids might have cried for a minute, but they'll be OK. A lot worse shit is going to happen to them in the next 20 years. And f*ck the fans for being punks. The biggest mistake Artest made besides actually entering the stands was NOT attacking the right person. Why the hell is it OK for fans to throw snowballs at NFL games, or drinks in this case? Yeah, athletes get paid mad dough, but getting belted by shit thrown by a non-talented never played sports in their life fan is ridiculous. I make decent money at my job, but if someone throws a drink at me I'm droppin bombs like Ron Artest. OK poor analogy, but you know what I'm saying... maybe not.

if im so wrong, why did wallace only get 6 games?
- radar0
they were all out of line but Artest git what he needed - a good face push - you don't hack someone in the neck and not expect something in return.
- BonSeff0
im not saying artest shouldnt have been steaming pissed about the beer getting thrown on him. but its a whole lot easier going after the wrong fan than squaring up against wallace.
- Dublao70
BonSeff - wallace is only gone 6 games because he didn't attack any fans. All he did was a neck push, but he still got 6 game for it and trying to further the fight.

I heard that the fans behind Artest kept yelling Nigger at him and talking a bunch of shit. Then the big pastey guy in the ballcap threw the beer. When Artest went charging up, big pastey guy acted like it wasn't him, stepped out of the way and led artest to the skinny guy in the black shirt...then hit artest in the back of the head like a punk.
When artest ran up to the guy in the black shirt, black shirt guy said Artest grabbed him and just yelled "DID YOU THROW IT, DID YOU THROW IT AT ME?"
- Dublao70
I don't really like Artest, he has caused a lot of problems for us. He only cares about himself it seems.
- Point50
Good point BonSeff. I wouldn't want to fight Wallace either.
- Dublao70
ESPN will be showing a press confence with Pacer's Head Coach here any minute.

damn, Artest does have violent history.
Based on just that night, Artest was trying to avoid a fight, until some punk ass threw a beer at him.
So it wasn't the black shirt guy that threw the beer? it really looked like it was him because he was saying some shit when Artest went climbing up after him. i guess it's kinda hard to tell.
- ricstultz0
still... no athlete should enter the stands.
Do you honestly think that getting hit by a beer validates running into the stands? Attacking someone who didn't even throw the beer? WTF?
Up till that point it was on the court...
- ********0
Nobody is wrong here BonSeff. Everyone on that court in that incident is wrong. I am talking about the inequal amounts of suspension.
Let me pose a question?
Has David Stern opened up the way for other fans to try and get athletes like Shaq and such pissed so they jump into the stands? Depends on how you see it, he might have..
- k0na_an0k0
i hear ron's new album is the sound of him punching fans and yelling 'did you throw it?' and 'what what' to the beat of drums for 36 minutes.
it will be sold in stores for $15.99.
- ********0
ricstultz, it doesn't validate it.
But look, if someone throws something at you from the stands and you see who did it, even though clearly Artest was mistaken, you go and get 'em. I've heard from many past athletes including Charles Barkely and Larry Bird. They got into fights in their time and fans of that day wouldn't dare throw stuff at those guys. And how about the fans throwing stuff from the opposite side of the building and when the Pacers were leaving. What does that say about Detroit fans?
Why would you throw something at someone volatile like Artest in the first place? That's like playing with a scorpion. What did you expect him to do. Adrenale running, things happen to fast. There is a pace we are talking about here. God, obviously most of you aren't athletes or never have been athletic.
- xaoscontrol0
my side hurts from laughing so hard.....
- Point50
It's not right at all to run up in the stands as an athlete. Just the same as it's not right at all to provoke the players by throwing shit at them. Ron Artest is a punk and so is the guy that threw the drink. Just because you bought a ticket doesn't give you rights to assault people with objects; the same goes for athletes; just because that jersey is on your back you're not untouchable. I played several college football games where the fans have thrown shit and the word nigger has been shouted the whole game (@ Southern Miss. and BYU) and there is nothing that I would have liked better than to pummell the shit out of those people that have no respect and such limited knowledge of the game.
