can't find the article anymore but it was an interesting article about the modern cooling problems. cooling the actual processors is no problem. the combination of air and liquid cooling seem to cover it all. but the surrounding areas still can reach temperatures of 180 degrees celcius. some material isn't resistant against this heat and/or wears off over the future due to it. i really wonder the longterm effects of a G5 powerbook and the new G5 imac since those two are very compact build and thus everything can be influenced by that heat. wouldn't surprise me if the future will show up a lot of issues regarding this.

They don't even make a PC laptop as good as the G4 17", so take your PC propanda to an old PC vs Mac thread. Then, complain about 2Advanced and post some pictures on Randomize Me.

all i gots to say is that i use my PC and my mac everyday! :)
my 17" powerbook is the cooler half though.

heat is really a serious problem. I do visuals in clubs, sometimes it gets really hot in there (ho ho) - and my 800MHz Ti then gets so disturbingly hot, that you can't touch the part above the keys any more. and yes, the Ti rests upon small stands above the table.
Surprisingly the 1GHz Al keeps cool.I really don't know about how they will fix it in thee G5 books...

im not going to worry about the G5 PB's as i am more than satisfied, you might even call it "in love", with my G4.
it'll come someday, and when it does, you can guys can start a thread about how awesome and hott it is.

if i had a powerbook g5 today, i'd flip it over and cook some eggs and bacon. sunny side up.
btw, i went to one of my friends classes with him. he has a powerbook, this other kid behind him had a dell or something. all you could here during the class was that kids damn laptop fan. brrrrrrahhhhhhhh It was sooo funny. almost told him to go outside and blow leaves off the sidewalk with it.
