ng! boot with option-s and type fsck -y (or fsck -f, when journaling is activated) then let it work and go it 'til it reports no errors found. then type shutdownnow -h and restart. good luck!

Hey, since you guys are on the topic, have any of you ever gotten that sorta tinted screen that comes over the desktop and says YOU MUST RESTART YOUR COMPUTER NOW?
It's like the Mac version of the blue screen of death. After I restart everything is normal again, but I have gotten it once or twice on my iMac, never on my iBook.

yeah, just use disk utility to fix. if you're still getting probs backup and wipe the drive. start fresh.

ok, cool so that url won't load so i was seriously thinking (upon reading your url name) you posted an image of Indian kids assembling G5's in a huge sweatshop somewhere in the suburbs of Calcutta.
but then i read the responses to finally find out what this is all about..

start up from installer disc and use DiskUtility to repair and/or fix rights on the booting disk.
or purchase a copy of disk warrior!
