Weightloss Race

I recently entered a Weightloss Race with 5 friends.
The deal: whoever loses the largest percentage of their body weight by Jan 1 wins $100 off of everyone else.
How much have any of you ever lost in a month's time?
I'm shooting for: 175 --> 160
(on that note, i'm off on a run for a few minutes)

what do you plan on doing to loose the weight? lord knows i could use a few pointers. i'd like to get down to that range as well. i'm about 190 - 195 now.
i'm about to get a mountain bike and just purchased a book written by Lance Armstrong's trainer.

in my experience, mountain bike riding does *very* little to shed pounds. i did it daily for about 7 years--it's more of a leg muscle builder.
my tactics:
- daily jogging
- eating higher quality food instead of lower quantity (unrefined foods, veggies, proteins, fruits)
- drinking as much water as I can standseems to be working so far
