Why is indesigns black not black. Registration is 100% black but black is around 95%. I cannot rename the black channel. I can tell all indesign objects to be registration so thats fine, but any logos that contain black that i import print out at 95%...Any suggestions

I have the same problem! Can't fathom it out either...

If you have a bitmap that is grayscale, only the black channel prints.
registration uses all channels, so the black comes out "blacker". convert your grayscale image to CMYK (even though it's one color only).
That's if I understand your problem correctly.

What if it is a logo that is 100% Black in Illustrator though? Indesign still sees it at 95% And what if it is a Black and white job so you can't use C,M and Y?

if you double click on black, it says black 100%?

cut from illy doc, paste into ID, recolor?

if your design is 1 color, you are not going to have the problem.
process black is not completely opaque. Althogh, with some work, it can be, but then photos don't come out that great.
I f the job is one color, it will be opaque (and then the registration is meaningless).
From what I understand your complaint is it looks like 95%, not that it actually is 95%.
Build your illustrator artwork with more than just the black ink. Be aware, howerver, that in low-qual prints this may messup delicate artwork or negative text on black.
I once saw a catalog someone did with motorcycle picts that had a black background. He put a %100 process background and the motorcycles ended up having darker black around them, since it was a rich 4-color black.
In some cases you may need a 5th color.
There is no absolute solution, you have to make decisions based on the nature of what it is you are printing, were your printing it and what you're printing it on. good luck.
