ok, so i have been working with a friend to build his photography website. a lot of his photos are skateboarding stuff so he wants that punk rock edgy theme.
many photography sites i've worked on, i had background in white, to resemble gallery style, but this time it's not the case. his idea is to use black background and reddish fontcolor. to me, that's a bit too simple (and a bit dumb), so i made a compromise and presented it with black background, reddish font, 3 iframes (one for menu, one for thumnails, one for image area) with different shades of gray frame background(with menu area being the darkest, image area being the lightest.) he didn't like it.
so, am i wrong to argue with him or should i just do it (and lose my ego) according to his design wish? but i really hate it when photographic image shows up with black background.

well, then, consider it a fun challenge to try to over come. You've been presented with this problem, solve it according to the limitations given to you.
You never know, you might be able to use your solution on a paying customer who wants something similar down the road.

i'm doing him a favor because he's a pretty good friend of mine. the only reason he's not paying is because he can't pay (broke) but otherwise he's done plenty more favors to me in the past (like getting me into a show for free, etc.)
but yeah, it's driving me crazy nonetheless.
