Funny to see people with tribal tattoos which they had done many years ago, its so out right now, same goes for chinese letters
I like the one my oncle has on his right forearm, heart with arrow -- inside a one color portrett of his first love...

"its so out right now" - didont.
a) who cares.
b) it implies that it is a trend and therein lies the problem, since tattoos are good for life + 3 months you can't really classify tattoos or a certain type of tattoo as a trend.
c) as the name already implies it's based on tattoos from different tribal cultures which has been around for oooh dunno quite some time. saying it's "out" would really downgrade the cultural heritage of it all.
c) you get a tattoo for yourself only not to pleasure others. however if that's your motivation than one could be classified as a moron.
you got any pictures of your grandfather's tattoos? always interesting to see those old (pre)machine tattoos. esp. russians one. russian prison tattoos is btw a very interesting matter to look into.

If tattoos were judged as design then a crit for all these tattoos would be pretty negative.
How is it that people so preoccupied with design can get an image attached to themselves for life?
I hate stuff I designed a month or even a week after I do it sometimes, I don't think I could live with one image staring up at me everyday for the rest of my life.
How did you guys choose what to get tattooed and did you design them yourselves?

true story: when my grandfather was in the merchant marines everyone was getting "mom" tattooed on their arms (yes, people really did use to do that). My grandfather felt that he owed alot of his raising to his sister, Bunny. He had "Bun" tattooed on his arm. Funny and sweet story. Ya had to know the guy.
