since when is having tattoos, wearing levis and having black hair equal to being a hipster?
its all vanity.
someone is always more indy.

The fact that you call them hipsters is why they are...
Rock n roll has ALWAYS been a fashion show
From the Beatles to the Stones to 70's Prog rock to Hair Metal, to Death Metal, to the Fuckin Bee Gees- to modern day hardcore who yell hipsters while in their "I HATE GOD" tee- as if they were any different at all..
Levis and Balck hair are no more played out than thug boots and long tees...
It's all relative to what represents you...
Look at hip hop- let's talk about every rap artist in a Team Jersey, let's talk about people into Ska wearing plaid and shaving their heads, let's talk about electronic subureans sporting Diesel Jeans....
You got to ignor all this shit- it's how the game is played... just listen- if you dig a bands music (and by the way this band does blow) then jam- who cares about the clothes-

puter with the final say. I agree, someone is always more indie. Take what you want from the music.

here we go again....
is this any different than it's ever been? ever?
i don't think so.
A new generation of marketing a co-opted sub-culture, while the last generation goes through their knee-jerk "what's with these kids?" thing.
fourteen year old girls have been dressing like robert plant for a few years now.
the 10th generation emo kids have been cultivating keith richards/robert smith hybrid for at least a decade.
I'm personally into the 17 year old dudes that are going for the mountain-man look.

David Bowie pushed that scene. Look at him now, still married to a beautiful African model, Iman.
