    hey all,

I've got a client that is very inclined not to pay me, because they're, basically, cheap asses. They're 2.5 months late on payment for the whole project, though we've only completed the first phase of the project (logo design)...we've not completed the rest because they never paid for the first phase.

Anyway, they're now using our logo, which a)we didn't give them vector art, lowres jpg only, so they had someone else copy it, and b)the contract states that we own the copyright until final payment...so it's ours. We're trying to bring a case against them. Any words of widom?

good to know your taking action, take it to court, get a lawyer that specializes in copyright.

make yourself a copy of the logo with the Copyright symbol next to it and put it somewhere on your site.
An attorney friend of mine says (and she's right)..
She who gets to the copyright office first wins...

We discussed a very similar situationwith her last week, re a logo, and Im pretty certain that would cover it pending any litigation you wanted to enact.
Its not Gospel, but I think its very little effort to do that on your part, for a potentially good result :)..
Anyone else any experience with this ?
