This is a logo Im just doing for the hell of it. The idea is that the top banner part will stay the same while the part that reads graphic design will change monthly depending on who is hosting the meetup. I would like to pair this logo with drawings of different rooms where parties have happened in an evan hecox sort of style. Anyway there is a whole campaign Id like to pair it with but I need to see if it would stand on its own.
I know it wouldnt be legible at very small sizes but it would almost never be used at that size. Also I would like to print this out and hand draw it to give it a more natural feel

for the style, i like the second one best. it has an eric anderson (wes anderson's brother - did young richie tenenbaums artwork of margo for the movie the royal tenenbaums) style.

i like the detail of the tabs with the eyelets for each letter, and i like the perspective.
i guess what i'm saying is that your efforts into the realistic nature of it is evident, but overall i'm just not too into it. sorry.

Yeah I guess I like the idea process enough I convinced myself to ignore the aesthetics. And I was hoping it would be so bad it was good.

i am intrigued by the graphic designer type
how you moved the g off baseline
not sure why - but if there is a good reason for it - it grabs your attn for sure
and i also like the mark - your rendition makes it look like it would be a fun event.
maybe buy the letters and make it for real - photograph and trace it.

Thanks _Salisae_ for the comments but no worries Im confident enough in my abilities doing corp. style or that future crap that I get called to do so often . I just wanted to try something different more illustrative and I liked the idea of a snap shot of the banners hanging after a party I also new it was something that could only work if everything was layed out just right. So it not working out is no big deal Ill just push the initial idea until something better comes up.
Also I didnt want something that looked like a logo really something more that evoked a certain atmosphere. And the royal tenenbaums suggestion was right on as far as the style goes.
