can you buy them when you get to stockholm or only online?
will that card get me from vasteras to stockholm town?

you can buy them everywhere. We got them at the train station. the cards last for 24.48. or 72 hours so you need to think about when to get it. covers all travel around the stockholm area. the bus ride was in our case more expensive than the flight @ £18 return

don't know your preferences but some spots to check out by night:
Berns: without doubt the biggest and most international nightclub, something for everyone.
Kharma and Köket: kind of Posh/preppy , lots of gold diggers.
Sturehof: Nice rock n roll bar
Heaven and hell: heaven upstairs rock downstairs.
Hotellet: good place to start at. lots of people and relaxed atmosphere
Grodan: good club/dance music
Lydmar: nice hotel lobby lounge
Viola: if you like champagne sipping
Sture Compagniet: easy place to pick up chicks.
East: Hip hop, r'n'b and wiggas
Halv Trappa: may be worth to check out, relaxed atmosphere.
